Top Personal Brands Germany July 2026

The German Top 10 has a rotation, and it runs on roughly a two-month cycle. Christian Lindner is back at #2. Christian Klein at #3. Herbert Diess at #8. Ola Kaellenius returns at #7 after three months away. All four were inside the ranking earlier this year, all four left, all four are back.

Meanwhile Thomas Müller, who climbed #9 to #4 to #2 across three months and looked like the most reliable riser on the board, is out of the Top 10 entirely.

New Entrants & Drop-outs in the German Top 10

The only genuinely new name is Oliver Bäte, CEO of Allianz, in at #10. 119,088 followers, the smallest audience in the Top 10. A 1.89% engagement rate, the highest on the board. 2,164 average reactions on "Quiet" activity.

That profile should look familiar. It's almost exactly the shape Sebastian Klein arrived in last month, small audience and outsized engagement. Klein lasted one month. Whether Bäte holds is the most interesting open question going into August.

The exits are June's intake. Verena Pausder, Frank Thelen and Sebastian Klein all entered in June and all leave in July. Lara Sophie Bothur exits after recovering to #8 last month. And Thomas Müller falls out from #2, ending the cleanest upward run the German ranking had going.

Biggest Movers of the Month

Tijen Onaran is the climb of the month, #9 to #5. Her activity reads "Quiet," yet she posts 2,650 average reactions and 180 average comments on 186,069 followers. That's a 1.55% engagement rate, second-best in the Top 10. She has now been ranked in every edition since April without ever leaving, which quietly makes her one of the most consistent names Germany has.

Friedrich Merz is the fall of the month. In at #3 in June on the strength of being Chancellor, down to #9 in July. His following grew to 356,050. His average reactions dropped from 1,031 to 634, his comments from 227 to 148. The audience arrived. The conversation left.

Carsten Maschmeyer holds #1 for a fourth straight month, though his margin softened. His whoranks Score is 8.3, down from 8.4. Average reactions down from 4,100 to 3,367, comments from 456 to 389. Still the highest volume on the board, now with Lindner and Klein three tenths behind at 8.0.

Florian Palatini holds #6 for a second consecutive month, a first for him. 712,006 followers, still the largest audience in the ranking, and Thriving activity that lifted his reactions to 1,095. Reach alone got him in and out twice before. Consistency is what's keeping him there now.

The Core Insight

Germany has around fifteen names and ten seats. June looked like a break in that pattern because five newcomers arrived at once. July shows what actually happened. The new names borrowed the seats for four weeks and the regulars took them back.

The returnees came back at the top, too. Lindner at #2 and Klein at #3, both on a whoranks Score of 8.0, both ahead of everyone June promoted. Merz kept his seat and lost six places. Palatini kept his seat and held his position. The difference between those two outcomes is a month of actually posting.

The whoranks Scores tell the rest. Maschmeyer at 8.3, then 8.0, 8.0, 7.9, 7.9, 7.8, 7.7, 7.7, 7.6, 7.6. Four tenths of a point separates second from tenth, tighter than June's already compressed board. Nine names are effectively tied and sorted by rounding.

A big month gets you a seat. Only a second one lets you keep it.
