February confirms a recurring pattern in the whoranks rankings: follower size alone doesn't protect a position. Three well-known names exit the Austrian Top 10, while three newcomers earn their spot through engagement, interaction quality, and sustained recent activity.

The February 2026 rankings brought the most notable reshuffle since the start of the year.

Newly entering the Top 10 this month are Ali Mahlodji (Entrepreneur & Author), Florian Gschwandtner (Co-Founder of Runtastic & Tractive), and Dr. Johannes Braith (CEO & Co-Founder Storebox). All three demonstrate that high-quality content with strong engagement metrics can outperform accounts with significantly larger audiences – Florian Gschwandtner, for instance, enters at #8 with 52,010 followers, while others with far higher follower counts fell out of contention.

At the same time, Sebastian Kurz, Elli Köstinger, and Daniel Keiper-Knorr drop out of the Austrian Top 10. Keiper-Knorr had only just entered in January – a reminder that a single month of reduced momentum is enough to lose ground, regardless of how strong the previous month was.

Biggest Movers of the Month

Leila Gharani is the biggest climber of the month, jumping from #6 to #3. With a whoranks Score of 7.1 and consistent "Steady" activity, her content around Python in Excel continues to generate strong average reactions of 549.

Selina Hehl moves from #7 to #4, maintaining her "Thriving" activity status and an engagement rate of 6.87% – the highest in the entire Top 10. With just 25,251 followers, she continues to outperform accounts with ten times her reach. A textbook case of what the whoranks Score is built to capture.

Peter Bosek and Annette Mann, on the other hand, slip despite staying in the Top 10 – Bosek from #3 to #7, Mann from #4 to #9. Their scores remain solid, but the competition intensified around them.

The Core Insight

The February rankings reinforce what the whoranks Score is designed to measure: relevance is earned every month, not granted once. Three of January's Top 10 couldn't hold their positions. Three others stepped up to take their place. The Austrian LinkedIn landscape is more competitive – and more dynamic – than follower counts suggest.
