August 2026 Ranking Germany

Five of the ten seats in Germany's August Top 10 belong to people currently running a DAX company. Roland Busch at Siemens, Christian Klein at SAP, Ola Kaellenius at Mercedes-Benz, Oliver Bäte at Allianz and Christian Bruch at Siemens Energy. In July that number was four, and in no month the ranking has recorded has it been higher.

Top Personal Brands Germany August 2026

The politicians moved the other way. Friedrich Merz held #3 in June and #9 in July and is out entirely in August. Christian Lindner fell from #2 to #4 with his average comments down from 229 to 94.

The whole board is now packed into seven tenths of a point, from Carsten Maschmeyer at 8.2 to a three-way tie at 7.5 in the last three seats.

New Entrants & Drop-outs in the German Top 10

Julia Jaekel enters at #8 in her first appearance. Non-executive director, former CEO of Gruner+Jahr, 130,448 followers, 1,449 average reactions and 258 average comments, which is the second highest comment count in the German Top 10 behind Maschmeyer's 319.

Christian Bruch enters at #9, also for the first time. The Siemens Energy CEO posts 1,967 average reactions on 153,165 followers and a 1.34% engagement rate, second only to Bäte.

Thomas Müller returns at #10 after a month away. His run now reads #9 in April, #4 in May, #2 in June, out in July, #10 in August. 268,556 followers, 985 average reactions, 0.39% engagement.

Tijen Onaran drops out after four consecutive months, and she does it straight from #5, her best placement of the year. Herbert Diess leaves for the third time since March. Friedrich Merz exits two months after reaching #3.

Biggest Movers of the Month

Roland Busch is the month. Up from #4 to #2, and the only Score in the German Top 10 that rose, 7.9 to 8.0. His followers grew by 17,468 to 367,204, more than three times any other gain on the board. Average reactions went from 1,702 to 2,747, average comments from 57 to 144, engagement from 0.51% to 0.81%. Those 2,747 reactions are the highest in the German Top 10, above Maschmeyer.

Carsten Maschmeyer holds #1 in every month the ranking has run, and did it this time while his own numbers softened. 2,430 average reactions against 3,367 in July, 319 comments against 389, engagement down to 0.54%. His Score fell a tenth to 8.2 and his lead over #2 is now 0.2.

Oliver Bäte climbs three places to #7 on Quiet activity. He runs the smallest audience in the Top 10 at 119,691 followers and still produces 2,095 average reactions, the third highest count on the board, at a 1.86% engagement rate that leads every other name.

Florian Palatini moves up to #5 with 718,036 followers and a 0.15% engagement rate. He owns the largest audience in the ranking and the lowest engagement rate in it, and has now sat between #5 and #6 for three straight months.

Christian Lindner falls from #2 to #4. His follower count barely moved, up 1,413 to 359,396, while his average reactions dropped from 1,751 to 1,130 and his engagement rate from 0.57% to 0.35%.

The Core Insight

The five CEOs in this Top 10 did not arrive through follower growth. Bäte gained 603 followers in August and climbed three places. Kaellenius gained 2,785 and climbed one. What they share is a month in which their companies produced things to post about, and the Score picked up the reactions and comments that came with it.

Compare that to the names leaving. Onaran, Merz and Diess all sat inside a board where three tenths of a point covered #5 through #10 in July. At that spread a quiet fortnight is enough to fall off, and three of them fell off at once.

Seven tenths of a point now separate first place from tenth. At that spread, one strong week is the whole ranking.
